Clive walked through the gate,trying his best to hold the emotions back.Nervousness,anxiety...it was a giant mix.After the gate,the path continued a bit and stopped at a small shed.
"Suppose Luke's in there?"Clive asked himself,but a bit too loud.
"...We'll soon find out."the professor replied.He opened the door,and a young boy was sitting sown on the ground.He jumped when he heard the door opened and jerked around.
"PROFESSOR!!!"(im so sorry,i just HAD to do it in all caps.)Luke cried,immediately getting up and ramming into him.Professor Layton smiled and hugged him back.
"Oh,Professor,I've missed you so much!I've been working on my gentleman skills,and I've been solving puzzles,and..."
"Now,Luke calm down.Besides,there is someone else here."
"Flora!You're here,too!"Luke said,going to hug her as well.He easily picked her up,as he had become stronger,taller,and aged in the past two years.Flora blushed and smiled.
"Luke,there is one more person here to see you,"the professor said,gesturing to Clive.
Clive froze.This was it.Luke took one look at Clive and his eyes were a mix of emotions,just as Clive had moments ago.He could make out anger,fear,sadness,relief...everything but happiness.Luke was speechless for a moment,then he spoke.
"G-good to see you,Clive..."
Clive had expected something more vile than that,but anything was fair game at this point in the conversation.Clive kept a straight face and nodded.The now 13-year old still stuck close to the professor, as he would have done if he was still young.There was an awkward silence,but Flora broke it.
"So,Luke...how do you like it here?"she asked sweetly.
"Well,it's good,I suppose.I only like it because of this forest.It's where I can come if I just want to think."Luke replied,still a little dazed from the encounter with Clive.
"If it's quite alright,Luke,I would like for us all to go back inside and catch up."the professor wondered aloud.
"That would be great,Professor!"Luke said with happiness,and the two began to make their way back out of the forest.Flora walked fast to catch up,but Clive took his own pace and fell behind.He was even more depressed now,but he wasn't surprised by Luke's reaction.Clive kept pace,not wanting to leave these woods.Luke was right;they were a good place for thinking.
After a while,Clive was so intrigued by the woods that he had decided to venture a bit further into them.Of course,there was an occasional rustle of a bush,movement of shrubbery,but that was normal.It was the woods,after all.He kept on with a designated path,trying not to get lost.Eventually,he turned back.The reason was the feeling of being watched.

A joyous reunion between mentor and apprentice.Yea,its not like that for CLIVE and Luke,however.Luke is now 13 and he is very suspicious of Clive.Will they ever renew the bond they once had?
Yes,I know it's pretty slow now,but trust me,as we get further into the story,I will start to cause PAIN.
