Descole stumbled back and covered his face with his gloved hand as Clive smiled, pleased with himself. He turned around, not surprised when he saw shocked looks upon the professor and his apprentice's face. Clive walked towards them a bit reluctantly. Smiling innocently, Clive scratched the back of his head. The young man suddenly felt a pain in hos chest, then his back. it all happened in a mere second, it seemed, but Clive soon realized that Descole had him pinned against the wall. He smiled evilly. "Now, Clive, you and I both know that wasn't very smart. And I thought you were intelligent." It was getting harder and harder for Clive to breathe now. after being pinned for what seemed like two years, and Clive knew how long that was, something that shocked Clive very much happened. Luke was suddenly on top of Descole, who released his grip on Clive to swat him off. Luke fell to the ground with a wince. While Descole was distracted with Luke, Clive grabbed his cape and pinned the masked man to the wall. Raising his fist again, Clive readied the punch, and...Descole was gone. Just like that. Clive froze up and looked around. The Professor was helping Luke up, and the strange machinery at the end of the room was still on, but there was no sign of Descole. A voice from a speaker on the ceiling blared in Clive's ears.
"Layton, I apologize I had to leave you. i have to ready my machine. I know you will, so let me say this up front...don't try and stop me."Descole crowed, then the speaker went silent. There was something Clive had to say to the Professor as well.
"P-Professor, thank you for finding me..."
"Oh, no, my boy. It was Luke who pointed out that you were gone, not me." Clive was overjoyed. He wanted nothing more than for Luke to warm up to him again. Luke smiled and turned away. Progress.
